‘Sissay writes of love, hate, politics and everyday trivia with an accessible, compelling and rather unusual honesty. A rough diamond of a book’ The Big Issue
Lemn Sissay brings together a stunning new collection, Morning Breaks in the Elevator. In Sissay’s work, we witness declamation being honed and brought to fine art, establishing his reputation as one of the UK’s foremost poets as he ably moves from loud protest through to quiet reflection.
“Bound to cause a storm rather than a smokescreen, Sissay’s poetry is inturn sharp and beguiling, but always fresh…warm and frozen, butalways hard-hitting, Morning Breaks demands that you tune in to thisfrequency”
